Setting The Romantic Tone: A Wine & Cheese Picnic
Food would always taste much better if it is enjoyed with a loved one on a very romantic moment. Having a picnic, take for example, is a great way to both enjoy good food and great company. In addition to that, going on a picnic is easy to plan and does not cost an arm and leg. One only has to use their creativity and imagination to make the event memorable.
To do this, one may start by choosing what type of food to bring. One may choose to go for light snacks that can also make the stomach full. Freshly baked bread may suffice, as well as a fruit or two. To top this meal, you can also bring a bottle of wine as well as pair the bread with cheese.
Make sure though that you and your partner like the wine or else you can choose sparkling water, juice or other non-alcoholic beverages.
When it comes to the type of cheese to pair your bread with, you can choose from famous ones – Gouda, Swiss, Brie or Chevre. This part of planning a picnic may be a little tricky – your cheese must be 1 which has the right taste, neither too rich nor too smelly. Also, you may want to choose your cheese depending on the occasion.
For your bread, you can choose to get French Baguettes or croissants. Of course, this choice is definitely up to you and your preferences. When it comes to wine, though, you will have to consider what type of cheese you had gotten to pair with the wine.
If you choose to get mild cheeses then a lighter wine would be best paired with it but if you go for strong flavored cheeses then you should get the bigger flavored wines. Red wine is the usual choice when it comes to big flavored wines while the white wine goes well with mild cheeses.
If you are choosing the dessert for your picnic, make sure that it is appropriate for the season. Since you will definitely be out on a warm day, be sure that you will get something that will neither melt nor spoil. It should not be something frozen or something that could curdle.
Now that you’ve got all those things set, be sure that you also have the location of your picnic properly planned. Usually, anywhere near bodies of water like lakes, rivers or oceans would be an ideal place to eat together with your loved one as it gives a romantic background. You can also do some strolling before or after eating hand in hand along the beach or lake.
No matter how prepared you are though, you must always remember that the center of your picnic is you and your loved one. You can top of the extra special moment together with a romantic kiss or two.
