Easy Cheese Fondue Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of cheese (Cottage); softened
1/4 c of milk
1.5 Tbsps of cornstarch
2 Tbsps of margarine or butter
1 dash of garlic (powdered)
3/4 c of milk
1/4 tsp of dry mustard
1 lb of French bread; cubed
2 ozs of cheese (pasteurized – Swiss); shredded
4 ozs of cheese (pasteurized – Cheddar, sharp); shredded
Instructions:
Blend 1/4 c of milk with cottage cheese ’til smooth. Using saucepan, melt margarine or butter and add cornstarch, mustard and garlic, mixing well. Pour 3/4 c of milk and continue cooking on moderate flame, constantly stirring ’til mixture is thick (approximately 2-3 minutes)
Lower the flame and add cheese mix as well as the rest of cheeses while stirring ’til they melt. Bread cubes can be served with fondue for the dipping. Fondue can also be used in preheated serving dish or fondue fountain.
