Cheese Vegetable Chowder Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of cabbage; chopped
1 c of sliced celery
1 c of carrots; thinly sliced
12 ounces of cream-style corn
1 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp of thyme
1 c of onion; chopped
1 c of peas (frozen); thawed
1/2 c of butter
2 & 1/2 c of milk
1/8 tsp of pepper
2 & 1/2 c of shredded sharp-flavored cheese (Cheddar)
Instructions:
Saute onion, cabbage, peas, carrots and celery in 1/2 c of butter together in saucepan (3 qts-sized) for 8-10 mins or ’til veggies become tender, frequently stir.
Add in seasonings, milk & corn. Place over low-heat and heat for 15 mins. Add in cheese, stirring well ’til melted.
