Cheese-Topped Beef & Potato Bake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 & 1/2 pound of ground beef
3/4 tsp of salt
1 stalk celery (medium); diced
4 ounces of sliced mushrooms
1/4 tsp of pepper
4 ounces of shredded cheese (Mozzarella)
1 onion (medium); diced
1/2 tsp of sugar
32 ounces of tomato sauce
1/2 c of water
3 potatoes (medium); sliced thinly
Instructions:
Cook celery, beef and onion ’til browned. Add tomato sauce, water, mushrooms, pepper, sugar & salt. Boil. Once boiled reduce to low-heat. Cover & simmer for 5 mins. Scoop 1/3 beef mix into 9×13″ bake dish; arrange half of sliced potatoes on meat top. Make another layer by following the same procedure ending w/ beef mix.
Cover bake dish w/ foil and bake at 375 degrees F for 60 mins or ’til potatoes become tender. Immediately remove pan from the oven. Uncover then sprinkle w/ cheese. Put back in oven and allow cheese to melt.
