Old-Fashioned Macaroni & Cheese Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c of macaroni (cooked); drained
1 c of milk
2 Tbsps of butter (or margarine)
2 Tbsps of flour (all purpose)
1 c of shredded cheese (Cheddar)
1/2 tsp of salt
1/3 c of bread crumbs (dry)
1 Tbsp of melted butter
Instructions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan above gentle heat then add flour; stir well then turn off the heat. Gradually add the milk while stirring continuously. Cook again above gentle heat, while stirring continuously till thick. Add cheese, stir continuously till it melts.
Pour over the macaroni; mix thoroughly. Combine melted butter and crumbs; sprinkle over the pasta. Bake, 350 degrees F for half an hour till top turns golden.
